The Shabbat Bag!

Recently it was Eliza's turn to take the Shabbat Bag home from preschool. Each kid in the class has a turn to bring home a bag that is essentially a kit to create a special Shabbat celebration at home - candles, challah, wine (kiddush) cup, a special music CD, a Shabbat story, etc. She was excited to have a turn and so were we! Although Shabbat begins on Friday night, we had to be a little creative in scheduling a special time to celebrate the day of rest as a family - we did it on Sunday :-). It was great - Eliza helped me make matzoh ball soup (from a box of course) and then we enjoyed the blessings and delicious challah from the bag.
Before the blessings...

Very proud!

They always wait for Bean to finish eating because then his "lap is open."

I enjoyed Eliza's Shabbat Bag turn probably as much as she did. As a teacher I packed the Shabbat bag up every week for the kids to take home - and now to be on the flip side is very cool.

First Family Vacation!

Last month we went on our first family getaway while Bean was on vacation. We went to Lake Geneva, WI and stayed at a hotel that had an indoor kid-friendly waterpark inside. It was the perfect trip for our family; 24-hours, no need to leave the hotel, in room kitchen, lots of space, very relaxing! Not to mention, I got a great deal! HA! The kids loved the water park and we loved that they were so happy.
Here are my three travel-mates checking out their waterpark wristbands!
Although the hotel had everything right inside, we did venture out once for some Starbucks. Aaron decided to snitch a few bites of Bean's snack.

This yogurt-covered smiling face pretty much sums up our vacation. A definite D0-Again!

Here We Go!

So this is my new blog - to document the highlights! Inspired by our great next door neighbor Mona's blog, I hope to record the fun/crazy/happy moments with our little beansprouts!
